Outside the Box: Placemaking & Gospel mission beyond the church walls
Episode 6 - The Workers in your neighborhood and the church
In this episode, Sara Joy and Eric talk with Kevin Finch about starting Big Table, a nonprofit based in Spokane, WA, that seeks to care for the workers within the restaurant and hospitality industry. As a former pastor, God called Kevin to start this organization to fill a gap in this industry sector. Kevin shares a compelling story of how he has journeyed to care for the least of these in the neighborhood. Eric and Sara Joy also speak with a couple of field guides who provide clarity around what Big Table looks like on the ground and how the needs for affordable housing and transportation are important components that affect the flourishing of so many service industry workers.
